Hi all,
I have been having a serious 2 minute delay between print jobs from either my 2008 R2 Server to a print server with 1 x parallel port and Lan ( TP link ps110P ), which has an Oki Microline 184 Turbo + attached via the parallel. Also an HP lazerjet 5200n ( chrono ) ( has a lan on it ). So firstly I had to upgrade the HP firmware to take the driverstore ( win2008 R2 default driver which now works great )
With the Oki I found the delay was massive or not working at all
Solution:
Telnet into your printer or print server and if it's an older printer:
1) definately check for firmware upgrade and re-install the printer on your server then you can add the correct universal driver or default Server driver.
2) telnet back into the print server if using one and disable both bi directional and your speed down to slow ( if it's an LPR or LPD printer ).
3) use Jian-Ping Zhus first post to disable the tcp interface issue
And I also disabled advanced printing features in advanced options. The delay is gone.
4) as a side note you might want to check your DNS events and either run DCDIAG or your router if printing raw documents over HTTP ( Port 80 ) and ensure the router has your inside nat port 80 going to the primary DNS server not the secondary ( just a thought ).
Thanks for the resolution
All the best Goose
